Valencia's Jonas Goncalves Eager To Halt Current Losing Streak

Valencia striker Jonas has urged his teammates to dig deep to end their current winless run, which has stretched to three matches.

Los Che have endured a miserable past two weeks as they were dumped out of the Champions League by Schalke before losing to Zaragoza and Sevilla in La Liga.

The 26-year-old had plenty of opportunities to score against los Nervionenses on Sunday but was unable to find the net as Valencia fell to a 1-0 defeat, and he is determined to take his chances in the next few games.

"We had bad luck on Sunday, because it seemed as if the ball just didn't want to go in," he told the club's official website.

"It wasn't our day, but we must have confidence in the team. We were able to create a lot of chances, and will work hard to ensure that they keep on coming, and that next time we will correct whatever we did wrong."

The Brazilian went on to underline the importance of the team's next two matches against Getafe and Villarreal, saying: "I feel that the next couple of games are going to be very important. Getafe will be a difficult opponent, but we have to go there to win.

"If Villarreal lose against Barcelona then we will have an advantage going into the next game, and we will be able to increase our lead when they visit Mestalla on the following matchday. They will be tough games, but the team really want to do things better and return to winning ways."

Jonas received his first call-up to the Selecao for the international friendly against Scotland on Sunday.
