Claudio Ranieri: There Were No Issues With Roma's Francesco Totti

| Tuesday, March 22, 2011
Former Roma coach Claudio Ranieri has dispelled suggestions that there was any problem between him and club captain Francesco Totti when the duo were working together in Rome.

Ranieri and Totti reportedly shared a fractured relationship at the Lupi in 2010-11 and didn't see eye to eye.

Ranieri eventually parted company with the 2001 Italian champions amidst reports of him having lost control of the dressing room, but the Italian now suggests otherwise.

“I hope he scores another 200 and can reach the few remaining players above him in the all-time scoring charts as soon as possible,” said Ranieri on the occasion of Totti scoring his 201st goal against Fiorentina at the weekend, according to Romagiallorossa.it.

“Francesco is a real champion, a professional, a lad with a heart of gold and he is Roma's captain.
